Where *is* my taper?

Yesterday, I rode 38 miles. Today I ran for 90 minutes (8.7 miles) and then swam a master's class for an hour. It sure doesn't feel like a taper! But even though my volume is still a bit high, it feels fine. The 90 minute run (at a 10:23 pace) still came out with an average heart rate of 147 (my zone 1) and everything felt fine. I did have an adventure where I really needed a bathroom around mile 5 in a non-squatting-behind-a-tree-way and planned on using the East Boulder Rec center. Which was sadly closed for their yearly cleaning. Making it home without crapping myself was quite the achievement, I'm very happy there will be port-a-potties every mile in the race.

I got my first full body massage of the season this afternoon and am feeling very relaxed. On the plan for tomorrow - a 4800 yard swim. Speaking of swimming, I always count my yards during masters and log them in training peaks. So that way I know in the last year, I have swam 192 miles! Doesn't that seem like a lot??? Especially since I've only run 850.
