Adam had still had plenty of opportunity to explain that he was a not a dinosaur but a MONSTER.
7:20 I was wondering why Becky was so late, and then I found out. Grandpa brought Ariel up today. Breakfast - blueberries and hot cereal.
And here's Dexter enjoying the bear chair (see my crafty cat deterrent?):

I was going to get a picture of Ariel loving on it, but the bear chair is very squishy and unpredictable and she tipped over and bumped her head on the red chair next to it and then she did not want to love on the bear chair anymore.
8:00 Ariel had real diarrhea. The baby kind that looks like green mashed potatoes.
8:30 Nap
9:00 Grandpa came back from his doctor appointment and hung out for a while. Adam enjoyed his company. I cleaned up Alex's room a bit so I could take a picture. Here's what Alex's room looked like two months ago:

When I was at Crissy's house I was inspired by her great decorating of Marcus' room (ocean-themed) to do something with Alex's room. I bought that hanging mobile at IKEA, and then Crissy had the great idea of using Smithsonian postcards in frames for wall decor. The 4 clustered together are planets, and the 4 under the window are shuttle pictures. I found the quilt on eBay. And the big picture is of Jupiter and its moons, which I got when I left JPL and has been hanging in our office. I don't think the room is done quite yet, it's not very cohesive, but that may be as much as I can do for a five year old.

Adam's room is now trucked themed. And with the crib out, there's no more nursery stuff. Makes me sad :(
10:00 Ariel woke up. A bit grumpy.
10:15 Ellen and Mae came over to save us from our boredom. I had thought about taking a walk this morning, but it never was warm enough. Stupid, cheap winter. And a BIG thank you to Ellen for bringing me coffee. I had been craving some ever since my own father showed up at my house with a Starbucks cup for himself and none for me. My own father! And I even fed him breakfast.
Anyway, our impromptu playdate was great for the grown-ups, only so-so for the kids. Ariel was very clingy and Adam sat on Ellen's lap most of the time. I can't wait until it's warm enough to hang out at the park.
12:00 Ariel ate 1/2 string cheese (Mae ate the other).
12:30 Ellen and Mae left.
12:45 We left to get Alex.
1:45 First errand after getting Alex - going to the yarn store to exchange some needles I bought last month. And, of course, buying more yarn. I saw a funny acronynm on the web, SELE (stash exceeds life expectancy) and I wonder if I'm heading in that direction.
Next stop, the grocery store for milk and dinner (cajun shrimp and cheese grits).
3:00 Home. I tried to feed Ariel a late lunch, but she wanted neither the squash or the graham crackers.
3:15 Put Ariel down for nap.
4:30 Pick up.

Alex's room looks very spacey...I bet he is proud....certainly matches his current interest. Grammie
I like the new room :)
Ariel didn't get much better last night. She did have a bath and was slightly amused until the water got freezing. Apparently the pilot light went out and even after re-lighting, the water heater seems to not be working.
Super
I love the room. Great job!
