September 12, 2008

In case you were wondering, I'm no fair weather runner. So when I woke up at 5:30 and it was pouring, of course I still went on my run. I briefly considered my options and realized I could wait to see if it got better at the end of the day, but mess up the family's evening routine, or go to the rec center and run on a treadmill. Neither seemed worth it - in fact I think it would have to be lightning, tornadoing or hurricaning before I thought the treadmill sounded fun. And I was not the only runner out there. I saw at least 5, and 2 were part of the elite Japanese team that I've been seeing around this summer. I also saw several cyclists (but more of the commuting kind) and two transients sleeping under bridges. An interesting morning.

7:40 Got home.

7:55 Ran Alex to school.

8:00 Ariel and I took a shower.

8:30 Breakfast - Ariel had some yogurt and a few bites of oatmeal.

9:00 Left for the adventure of the day - Kangaroo Kingdom with the Stroller Mommies.

9:25 The Kingdom was good. Ariel was nuts though. She was flipping and climbing over everything, including the outside of the play structure specifically labeled "no climbing." It was good too see stroller friends, I haven't seen most since May. And of course Lilianna ("Lily-Hannah") was there too.

10:40 The Kingdom was so rocking that we were given a coupon to come back another day if we left. So Ariel and I went over to Deli Zone for a snack. Ariel had a cookie.

Strapping Ariel back in her carseat:

11:05 Got back to the car. Ariel fell asleep on the way to Adam's school.

11:40 Adam pick up. Yes, 10 minutes late. It's kind of annoying, especially since we just got a big notice in our Wednesday folder about how important it is for the kids to be *at* school on time.

11:50 Home, and Ariel transferred to bed.

2:00 Surprise early pickup. Have a good weekend!
