7:00 Something drop-off. I was at track practice. Track went well, except I've had some tightness that I don't want to upgrade to pain in my hip and I was talking to my coach and she suggested I see a PT for it.
7:45 Got home, everything in order.
7:55 Dropped Alex off at school.
8:45 Went swimming while Ariel went to daycare. And I was feeling so tired that I didn't take her swimming afterwards. We did stop at the dinosaur park when I was done.
11:15 Quick trip to Kings and the new Starbucks before picking up Adam.
11:30 Adam pick up.
Lunch - 1/2 a donut and mac & cheese
12:30 Down for nap
1:30 Woke Ariel up for the PT appointment.
1:45 PT appointment went well. I'm not imagining things, my right hip is much more tight than my left. However, the PT was very concerned with my overall strength (quote-end-quote, "You are as weak as a puppy") and suggested I make another appointment to get a strength program so I don't end up with an injury. I felt pretty dejected with the puppy comment, but when I talked to my coach, she pointed out that many athletes have weaknesses and it doesn't mean I'm not strong, just that I need to work more on certain areas than others to keep training at my level without injury.
2:45 Alex got home.
4:00 Swim team. I'm so proud of the boys. Just 2 weeks ago they were handed their first kick board and flippers and they couldn't even make it across the pool. Today they just hopped in and followed the line of kids all the way down. They are probably the weakest swimmers of the bunch, but every lesson they do a bit more. Like last lesson they both dove off the blocks! Adam's never even jumped off a diving board before and they are the same height.
4:30 Ariel pick up at the pool.
And now for a sad story - Last weekend, Jeremy's car's check engine light came on. He took it to the dealer and the car had been burning oil for a while and the engine is dead. A new engine is $7700, a used is $5500. We don't know what we are going to do yet. And Jeremy feels terrible, he thinks he killed his car by not checking the dip stick when he gassed up. I personally believe the car failed us. Modern cars shouldn't break like that if you get your regular oil change and scheduled maintenance (which he did) and pay attention to dash buttons. And yes, the warranty expired at 60k miles, he's at 72k.

I mentioned the car problem to Kevin and he tells me that if the car is still running then put oil in it and go! Keep checking the oil and as long as it runs your fine. Now it may not be quite that easy but I thought I should tell you.
Kevin just read this over my shoulder and he said "if the engine is already "dead" then what's the worst that will happen? You'll damage the engine?"
