The sukkah:

And hanging the decorations from the ceiling inside:

After the sukkah was finished, we had a short service. Except for the annoying goat puppet, Sukkot is one of my favorite holidays.
And today we went to the school's first Fall Festival.
My kids go to a hippy school. They compost and recycle over 90% of their waste. It's kinda hard to find a trash can there. I just had to take a picture of one of the many compost bins:

Our school also has a Garden to Table program. The kids help work in the garden during the year and then there's various opportunities to eat from it. There's Adam in the corner by the carrots. One of Adam's classmate's Mom made fresh salsa from this garden and others in the neighborhood and the school sold it at the festival. It was so good, too bad the kids wouldn't try it.

The crazy renaissance sword poeple were there. Adam and I dueled for a while and I learned that he can swing pretty darn hard for a 5 year old. Alex was so excited to find his friend Keegan. Oh, and they are actually playing "lightsaber."

It was a perfect day for the festival (yes, it did warm up after this morning's cold snap). There was also a bouncy tent and live music and a cake walk and games. Adam and I didn't have any luck with the cake walk so at the end I just used my tickets to buy brownies and cookies.
