When I was lifting weights on Sunday, I wanted to give the boys a project that would keep them occupied for 45 minutes so I told them I'd bring the paint out. I was thinking that Adam would want to do art and Alex would go in his room and play with legos, but Alex decided to paint too. And apparently, when Alex hears the word paint, he thinks of art class and they are studying Van Gogh right now and Alex wanted to paint Starry Night. Exactly. Which is hard being as the original is oil and we only have water colors. So Alex painted Starry Night. As precisely as possible:

And Adam, being Adam, had to copy Alex. But then he ended up doing his own thing too. And here is his rendition of Starry Night:

On Friday, Adam did this puffin-scape. Everyone who has seen it thought Alex had his hand it in somehow, but no, Alex was at school. This is all Adam. My favorite part? The yellow alligator in the sky because, "You know Mommy how sometimes clouds look like shapes?" Adam also figured out how to write "Wah Wah Feed Me" for the baby puffins on the cliffs.
