Apr 17, 2006

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We spent our Easter weekend with Grammie and Pop-Pop at their house.

The boys had fun painting Easter eggs:

While they were busy inside, Kyle hid eggs outside for the boys. They both had a great time finding them:

(and this is Kyle)

Hooker just waited for someone, ANYONE, to throw her a ball:

Alex and Adam found most of the eggs before Pop-Pop introduced the extra-special Easter hunt - finding hidden quarters in the garden with the metal detector. Alex was all over this, and helped dig them up with his bayonet (overheard - "Alex, get your bayonet ready!")

And here is SarahDon'tTakeMyPicture - Isn't she purty?

Brother and Sister pretending to like each other:

Meanwhile, Aunt Sarah was asleep on the couch. She had a long night before. I know, because I was there, bar hopping with the class of '96. Pretty crazy stuff there :P Of course, Sarah had gotten up at 7:00 to go to church, I didn't roll out of bed (with a slight hang-over) until 10:00.

Exuberant Adam!

Aunt Sarah cleans up good though:

Think they might be related?

My handsome hubby:

Grammie's pretty center-piece:

Adam insisted that he sit at the grown up table, which didn't have enough chairs for him. So he lap-hopped, first to Aunt Sarah, then to me, then to Grammie. We had cheese-grits and green beans and potatoes and croissants and some of us had ham:

Another brother-sister combo pretending to like each other:

Mom and daughter (they really DO like each other :P):

Family (trust me, Sarah looks better than I do):

See, why hasn't anyone told me how badly I need a haircut?

Darn-tooting cute kid:

Pop-Pop and Grammie:

Father and daughter:

And I just have to tell you, I have always liked my new minivan. But yesterday, I think I fell in love with it. On the way home, I was reading to manual to make sure the rear vents were venting correctly, I found a section on my Rear Audio Control. After a quick search of my glove box, I found a remote and suddenly we were in business. In my car, the front speakers can be playing something different from the rear headphones. What that means for us is, I no longer have to listen to the same Kindermusik CD over and over and over and over. I hooked Alex up to the headphones, it was as close as we've come to our dream dividing glass option. Though it was only a minor victory for me, Jeremy insisted on listening to Japanease Pop for a Beautiful Life Hour. Yes, it IS as bad as it sounds:

7:00 Drop off

7:20 Nap

8:00 4 oz bottle - pretty spitty (see Becky, we jinxed it)

8:30 Crissy and Gavin arrive, Crissy and Ariel have special baby time.

9:30 Nap

10:15 Wake up

10:30 Play time before bottle

Adam is always near by. And you can't tell, but he's wearing a St. Patrick's day shirt and Alex's shorts. His request over jammies last night:

10:45 Crissy fed 3 oz bottle

11:30 After much deliteration, we came up with our fabulous plan. We walked to a breakfast place for lunch. I had a Mexican skillet, Crissy had blueberry pancakes and Alex had mac & cheese. Adam scavenged off of Alex and me, and Ariel slept through the whole thing. She did wake up for the walk home though. Oh, and we saw Gavin's Daddy having lunch by the breakfast place and he was quite surprised to see up. Crissy thought he was possibly stunned into silence :)

1:15 Got home. I put Adam down for a nap while Crissy fed Ariel another bottle. Seems like Crissy did a lot of Ariel work today, so I treated her to lunch. Big gesture on my part, her pancakes were $4.50 and I had a $2 off coupon. But it's the thought that counts, right?

2:30 Ariel was a bit cranky, finally went down for a nap.

3:15 Awake - 3 oz bottle

3:40 Go out side to wait for Becky. Where is Becky? I called Becky to make sure I wasn't supposed to take Ariel to the doctor's office.

3:55 Pick up. So Becky, what do you think about the return of Flutter Bug? I was right, Jeremy had put her in our toy bin.

So how was Ariel's appointment?

I had a horrible dream last night. I dreamed I left Ariel in the garage and was driving around (with you Becky) for a bit before I realized she wasn't in the car. Very traumatic. Because I always say, no matter how scattered brain I get, I haven't forgotten any children.

Her appointment was ok. She has a mild ear infection and a chest cold :( She DOES weigh 11 lb 8.5 oz now though.

Please don't leave Ariel in the garage...

And I was super happy to see flutterbug.

Suduko time: 24:37. But half that time Adam was on my lap chanting 1,2,1,2.

Oh, and the worst part about my dream? I was dreading having to write in my blog that I lost Ariel.

Wendy, Hi!! We had such fun seeing you and the boys and Grammie in Horseshoe Bay. Jewell & Georgia have not stopped talking about "cousins" yet. Both were named "Alex" during playtime yesterday, we pretended to be dogs having a parade and dog races. Hope the rest of your Texas Family Road trip is fun and safe. Thanks for coming down to see all of us - WE LOVED IT! xoxo.
