Apr 5, 2006

I have put a lot of thought into moving to Arizona. Did you know they don't have daylight savings there? See, the kids are fine with this time change. They were already getting up with the sun. But I'm really struggling. I don't like getting up early. Wah!

7:00 Drop off.

7:25 Tried to put Ariel down for a nap. She didn't like that.

7:35 Bjorn, then asleep.

7:45 I put her down in her carseat and she stayed asleep.

8:08 Sweet Adam woke up. It was so nice and quiet this morning.

8:30 Wake up.

8:45 Bottle. She had two great dry burps in the middle of the bottle, but a huge spit-up(s) at the end.

9:15 We are off to have adventures. And I would guess that there will be Starbucks in there somewhere too.

9:20 Ok, we actually got out of the house. We walked to Starbucks (mocha frappachino - they forgot my java chips!) and Michael's (another picture frame for a project I'll explain later) and the library.

10:15 Storytime at the library. Alex sat the whole time, but Adam wandered a bit. At least he was quiet about it. And I actually picked out an adult book to read. It's from my new favorite genre, "chick lit." I'm so excited to read a book. And I'll have plenty of time, because Mr. Can't Work Netflix Jeremy didn't mail the last 2 disks we had finished days ago, so we have no tv.

11:00 Walked home. Ariel slept most of this adventure.

It's a beautiful day today (and I don't want to hear that it might snow this weekend). Here's the flatirons over scenic highway 36:

My children taking in and appreciating the view while I pushed their sorry butts 4 miles:

Adam is business casual today and I can't wait to tell Jeremy he picked it out all on his own. Sure, most days he brings me 2 shirts or his pajamas, but today he brought a full business casual outfit. Go Adam!

And more signs of spring, my crabapple is budding:

11:30 Got home, Ariel woke up.

11:45 Bottle.

After the bottle, and my kids' lunch, everyone seemed happy so I thought I would try my lastest picture request. Grannie Shirley would like an 8x10 of all three kids. Hopefully I won't have to resort to cropping and pasting heads like I had to do for the picture I sent last fall of Alex and Adam.

It was a short session, and not the last, but here are the best so far:

12:30 Photo shoot over, Ariel back in the bjorn, asleep.

1:00 I told the kids we could go outside, and Alex wanted to go in the front yard. As soon as Adam heard that, he asked about Zach. So I called Holly and they were home, so we went next door.

1:35 Ariel woke up, bottle.

2:00 I put Ariel down on a blanket, and she was happy for a long time. Here are some pictures I got:

Close, but not quite:

Ahhhhhhh!:

Upper mouse hole:

Zach:

Bike!:

Maybe Ariel will fall asleep?:

And Josh:

2:30 It was almost looking like it just might rain, and Ariel was done with the blanket, so she went in the Bjorn, and we went inside for a bit.

2:45 Josh and Zach wanted to read books and my boys were playing, so we went home to have a snack.

3:30 Kids watched Blue's Clues while I surfed the interweb and Ariel slept.

Oh, hey, here's a picture of the mini-scrapbook kit I secretly got from Michael's:

This book was kind of cheaply made, and I decided I could just make one (to give as a gift to Grannie Shirley). So here's what I put together:

4:20 Adam pooped, and was trying to take off his pants, so I had to put sleeping Ariel down so I could change his diaper before there was poop all over the house.

4:30 Becky arrived for this super fun time. Adam had been pulling on his pants and ended up peeing on them, so I took them off. He went in his room and got some more. And another shirt. And another shirt. And a few more. And demanded that he wear them all. At least count he was wearing 5, and couldn't put his arms down. He looks like he's wearing football pads. I could barely get a picture as he went in his room to get another pair of pants, which we found out was an even worse idea.

Well, I just can't believe you started an adventure without inviting me! I am hurt :-) Actually, I'm glad you didn't tempt me...I'm working on taxes and other OH SO FUN stuff.

I can't believe you didn't invite Chrissy on your Starbucks adventure EITHER... ya big meanie.

1. Crissy, I did invite you yesterday. You just forgot.

2. Crissy gave up Starbucks for Lent, so it would be MEAN to invite her.

Now you can't play this "you forgot" game on everything. Did you really invite me or are you just trying to look good??
Like I said, I'm glad you didn't call because I'm getting a lot done. Somehow that doesn't happen when I spend all day having fun hanging out with you and the kids. Imagine that? :)

I'm glad you are getting something done. And I didn't exactly invite you, but I know I said we were planning on going to story time. The invite was implicate, see?

And Starbucks sounds soooo good. So what do you think the chances are of getting all 3 kids to look super cute?

I think 2 outta 3 isn't bad...

How could you not mention the name of the book you picked up? I have lots of chic lit books at home if you are interested...

Hey Ronda - I got "To Have and To Hold" by Jane Green. First I picked up her "Babyville" and thought that it looked pretty good, then I remember I had already read it 3 years ago, lol.

I've read all of Jennifer Weiner's books and love her - what do you have?

I just don't understand how you find time to do all of this. When exactly did you make the adorable book for Ariel and then decide it was "cheaply made" and make yet another even cuter one? I just don't get it. I have only completed one new page since Sat! :)
BTW... What is going to happen to the "cheaply made" one?

Wendy said...

Crissy, I made one Monday night and one Tuesday night. The cheaply made one is the one Alex thought I needed to make for you. I think I'm just going to keep it for myself. If you want to make your own, I'll be happy to get the pictures for you :)

And these mini-kits are really quick. Really :)

Adam's shirts are a hoot!

I guess that means I need to crop stuff myself too. Wah... I'm super behind.

Wendy said...

The more you get behind in your cropping, the harder it is to catch up. Trust me.

I love Green and Weiner. I will look at what I have at home in the same arena and let you know! :)
