May 10, 2006

There's days you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, and then there are days when you wake up 45 minutes early with a 2 year old hitting you on the head with a broken Bob the Builder lego truck demanding you fix it NOW. And then when Daddy, who is already awake, offers to fix it, the said 2 year old erupts into his terradactyl-like screams demanding that MOMMY do it. Today I woke up the second way, and it put me in a bit of a mood.

7:05 Drop off. Ariel was asleep, and stayed asleep in the carseat in Adam's room.

7:30 Ariel anticipated I was just about to eat breakfast, so she woke up. I handed her off to Jeremy. His only comment? She smells, like a baby. Deep, really deep.

8:00 Bjorn - awake

8:30 4 oz bottle

9:00 We had to get out the house. Now. Before someone (Adam) got hurt. I ran a few errands, getting pictures reprinted and mailing a letter.

9:45 We met Crissy at Starbucks. And before you go off and add another notch to my tally, I didn't have one. I'm getting a cold and wasn't in the mood. So while Crissy stood in line, Mr. Whiny McWhine-Whine and I got some Cold-eze. And calling them strawberry cream flavored should against some sort of false advertising law.

10:15 We went over to the library for story time. Ariel fell asleep, and Adam actually sat and listened for a bit. I got a break and looked at some John Fielder books while Ariel slept on me.

11:00 After story time, Crissy decided I was in such bad shape that I had to come to her house, and she would even give up her weekly trip to Walmart. Awwww.

11:15 We headed back to Safeway for provisions. When I handed Ariel to Crissy when we got to Starbucks, Crissy discovered that there was only one diaper in the diaper bag, and it was Adam-sized. So we needed to get some diapers and some things for lunch. While we were contemplating the diapers (do we go cheap store brand and risk leaks, or get pampers and spend $16?) when I suddenly remembered that my diaper bag was in the car, and it had plenty of diapers, all Adam sized of course. So we didn't get any diapers, but we did waste a good 10 minutes on the project.

11:45 Get to Crissy's house. Ariel was asleep in the carseat.

12:00 Ariel woke up, Crissy fed Ariel a 4 oz bottle while I heated Adam some spaghetti o's. The big boys were too busy playing to eat.

Crissy had gotten some Photography magazines at the library, and I looked them over. I fell in love with this Glen Randall picture of the Maroon Bells. Then I realized I own one of his photos, this one of the Flatirons. He has some amazing pictures of Colorado on his website.

1:00 I got Ariel down for a nap in Gavin's bed. It took about 5 minutes, no crying. Crissy, she really does just hate your bed.

We spent the rest of the afternoon teaching Crissy how to use image manipulation programs. It was made super hard by Mr. Whiny McWhine-Whine's constant interruptions. But Crissy managed to finish the project she was working on.

2:45 Crissy had to go pick Marcus up from school, and Ariel was still sleeping. So my crew and I hung around a bit waiting for her to wake up.

2:50 We didn't have to wait long. When she woke up, I confirmed with Becky that I could just drop her off at her work. Then I realized I hadn't taken any pictures today, so here you go:

3:15 Ariel fell back asleep in the car, dropped her off with Becky.

I am very sorry you are sick... I hope I am not the cause. We could blame mom, but I'm not sure if she is the carrier monkey or not.
