January 7, 2009

Well, Howdy Folks and I am back. About a bazillion things happened in the last 3 weeks and I'm not going to even try to get it all down in one post. I have a list of topics next to the computer and I'll stick one in every once in a while. I will say we had a fabulous trip to San Diego. Pictures are forthcoming, but I do have the tiny issue that my 200 gig hard drive is full and I need to do something about that before I put on another 500 pictures. So we'll save that post for another day.

Working from the most recent Item of Interest, I upgraded myself to the 21-century yesterday and got a fancy phone that comes with a 2 year plan and all. No more $10 pay-as-you-go Target phone for me, sistah. It's the Verizon Dare and it has GPS and web browsing. 'Cause when you are on vacation and spend way too long looking for Taco Bell and you know there's a solution, it's hard to resist.

See, I can check my email ALL DAY LONG. But apparently not when driving.

And that's your random tidbit of today. On to Ariel... She walked in this morning without missing a beat. And immediately told me she was going to school. When I did drop her off at school, we saw the first of the new kids crying. There's a batch of 6 coming into her class that weren't yet 2 1/2 in September. Ariel is now the big cheese, which is probably a good thing for here since she hangs around Alex and Adam so much. While she was at school I used my precious free time to go to physical therapy, then do a 2 mile run and most of my strength routine. I picked up Adam and we had lunch and then I took a shower. By then it was nearly one, but no matter, Ellen volunteered to pick up Ariel today. And it was a very nice favor not to have to spend 45 minutes to do that.

Ellen reported that Ariel had a good day and was Amy's helper. And luckily she didn't have an accident because I forgot to tell you, Becky, that she doesn't have a spare outfit at school anymore. And no, I didn't check the backpack.

Ellen and I chatted for a bit and when Ariel and Adam got too noisy around 2:30, I put Ice Age on. We recently acquired Ice Age, like, 4 days ago when we were driving back from CA and the boys were sick of watching Wall-E over and over. (And yes, we did bring other movies too).

Ariel had an early pick up at 3:30 and I suspect that she would have had a better evening if she had taken a nap today.
