June 12, 2008

7:15 Drop off. I was already back from my swim workout. Yes, I did it again.

7:30 Breakfast - yogurt and a few bites of chocolate chip waffles. Who doesn't eat all their chocolate chip waffles???

8:00 Pee accident.

8:40 Biked Alex down to camp. Alex is having a great time there. The camp leaders sent some pictures from yesterday (Alex in the red striped shirt):

And it's not just fun and games and banana pops. Today I overhead Alex telling Adam, "Did you know that the torah has 613 laws? They are called mandates."

9:30 After we got home and got packed, Adam, Ariel and I went swimming at North Boulder Rec center. And I found out (without spending another $5) that an entry fee per day covers all 3 rec centers. I'll have to plan that when I want to take the kids swimming to coordinate with my workout.

So here's a picture I stole of the pool. I didn't think it was wise to try and take pictures while watching two small children swim.

Ariel was pretty excited to finally go swimming. I think she was a bit overwhelmed, she mostly walked around holding a ball. Adam was excited too and kept wanted to practice real swimming. So every once and a while I'd hold Ariel and take Adam to the deep end to let him practice swimming to the wall. He's still got his survival float and was having a great time. The only disappointment for him was we couldn't do the big slide with two kids.

11:00 Left the rec center.

11:30 Lunch - uh, leftover waffles (inhaled this time), spaghetti o's and half a sauce.

12:00 Nap. Adam and I took a snuggy-pie nap too. I'm not having problems getting up early to work out, but I'm also not doing well staying awake all day.

2:35 Ariel woke up on her own just in time to pick up Alex.

3:15 After pick up we all went to DQ. Alex told us about his own day swimming at the Apex center.

Ariel ate all her hot fudge sundae. Alex ate all his strawberry. Adam was brave and had a caramel one and ate it all too.

Yesterday, I took Adam to get a haircut and he chose a buzz cut. I love how I can see his funny little cowlick whirl again:

3:45 Got home.

4:20 Pick up.

Today Adam told me, "I'm kinda being like a big brother to Ariel, right?" I don't know if someone told him that or he came up with it on his own, but I thought it was pretty sweet. And he does treat her like a little sister, fighting and all.

I suppose I need to remember to put the swimsuit BACK in the pack pack. Busy day. No wonder you can't stay awake the whole time :)
