October 15, 2008

7:15 Drop off. I made waffles today and Ariel had yogurt and most of a waffle.

7:55 Took Alex to school. Then had to run (or, in the case, drive) Adam to school, as this Wednesday Finnish meeting for Jeremy seems to be a regular thing.

8:45 Did not take Ariel to school. It's Sukkot and a holiday. But Grandpa came over to watch Ariel while I went to physical therapy.

9:15 PT. This is my 5th appointment and I've been doing PT for 2 weeks. My right hip feels great now, though today my left hip was feeling tight. From what I've been told, it should be 2-4 more weeks before I really see and feel results.

10:30 Got home. Grandpa and Ariel played with the train set the whole time I was gone.

10:50 Ariel had a minor Bunny melt down. I think she saw I was checking my email and wanted attention. I told her we could go to the knitting store, but only if she stopped crying. Amazing how quick she stopped her sobbing. And yeah, Bunny is not here today and she had Bear.

11:10 Knitting store. I didn't not get what I came for, needed more time. Ariel wanted to steal all the paper pads that are there for people to write pattern numbers down for.

11:30 Picked up Adam from school.

11:45 Lunch - hot dog, string cheese and grapes.

12:00 Adam requested that Ariel not nap right away so they could play. They did pretty well. First they played Train Family, with the big trains being the Mommy trains and then there was a princess train but I don't know what that was about. Then they bounced on the futon.

1:00 Ariel started to get snarky so it was time for a nap.

And pictures of the day - we have pigeons now. Sometimes it's just 2 or 3 and sometimes it's 20-30. Apparently they are big enough to attract the interest of our lazy fat cats.

And the peanuts are working better. Yesterday I waited until I saw a jay to put them out and two jays went nuts. The squirrels only got a few of them. I put some out for Grandpa today but he said the the jays never came.

This jay has just swallowed a peanut whole, you can see the lump in his throat.

And I am very mad at the grackles. I hadn't seen one in our yard in weeks and today a flock came and ate all the chickadee food.

4:20 Pick up.

What beautiful jays...don't think I have ever seen the patch-work on the wings like that! Thanks for that great picture!

The pics of the Jays are beautiful. They are quite pretty birds. I never realized.
However, what is up with swallowing a peanut whole. That does not sound good!
