7:something Drop off. I was actually out running. I did a 30 minute run with a 20 minute tempo at a 9:55 pace, which I'm happy with since the tempo was mostly uphill.
7:45 Got home.
7:55 Dropped Alex off at school.
Next, Ariel and I did our stretches and exercises and then took a shower.
9:00 Breakfast - yogurt for the both of us.
9:30 Stopped by the grocery store for donuts.
9:45 Picked up Adam from school. When we found him in his class, he was the only English-only speaker in a group of Latino kids listening to Corduroy in Spanish. He does have a thing for other languages, often embarrassing me by asking people, even people speaking English with an accent, what language they speak. Even the guys that answered Arabic.
10:00 Picked up Alex from school. He got to have a normal morning with a spelling test and art before his class got ready to go on a field trip to see Seussical at the Arvada Center. I was a bit peeved with his school for scheduling a field trip on Yom Kippur and I wrote a note to Alex's teacher and even a brief email to the principal but I haven't heard back.
10:15 Got to Temple. Dropped Ariel off in the daycare area with Mae-Mae and Sam.
10:30 Yom Kippur services. When we found seats, we were by the Jewish 1st grade teacher and I asked her what was up with the field trip. She said she didn't schedule it and forgot to tell the other teacher Thursday was Yom Kippur and I think I made her feel bad. Which was not my intent. The kids did really well during the service. It started off poorly with the rabbi's microphone giving a kazoo-like feedback, but they fixed that and the boys listened very well to the story of Jonah and the Whale. Or Jonah and the really big Grouper Fish, according to Adam.
11:45 Retrieved Ariel. The daycare guy said she was a "hoot." Hmmm.
12:00 Home and lunch. I made tomato soup and heart shaped grilled cheese. Ariel went nuts on the soup and threw a mild tantrum when I told her it was all gone. She poked a hole in the sandwich, but didn't eat any.
After lunch the kids played for a bit. I realize it's not often that Ariel gets to see Alex so I let her stay up.
1:30 Put Ariel down for a nap.
3:30 Early pick up.

A "hoot" could mean anything...
