Now that I'm feeling better, I can get excited about the Boise Half-Ironman in just 5 days! I did a real swim workout Friday morning, a decent bike ride Friday night, a short run yesterday and a ride to Jamestown today. I'm feeling normal again!
Tonight I needed to pack up my bike and my big gear because tomorrow morning I drop it off to be driven out to Boise by TriSport Express. Racing out of state is all complicated and stuff. And rather than trust my bike to the airlines, I'm having it driven out in a trailer. I'll be reunited with my bike on Thursday when I trust myself to the airlines and fly to Boise. I hope to be able to scout out the course a little on Thursday and Friday and then the race starts at 2:00pm on Saturday. If you would like to track me during the race, you can do it here. And what the heck, I put a goal time down for Canyonlands and I didn't get jinxed so I'll do it again. I'd like to finish in under 6:00. Hopefully I'll swim under 40 minutes, ride in under 3 hours and run about 2:15.
This week's training was light, but that's ok because I'm tapering. Totals:
Swim: 4700 yards
Bike: 77.4 miles
Run: 10.7 miles
Total: 8:40
