Last week, I finally broke down and bought a gas grill. We've been eating meat for a year, it's time to do it right. Plus, broiling hamburgers is a pain. It took a while to get the grill working, apparently with my delicate female hands I didn't have the gas hose on tight enough (but in my defense, the instructions were very clear that it shouldn't be
over tightened). And to go along with the grill, I went to the bookstore and bought a grilling cookbook. While there, the boys found another addition of
Hello Cupcake. I refused to buy it, but it sparked cupcake interest again and Alex has read the old book cover to cover several times this week. He and Adam picked out Adam's cupcakes for Adam's theoretical 6th birthday party (they look a bit easier than penguins.)
We didn't have anything planned today so I told the kids we could make some easy cupcakes just for fun. Since we are grilling hamburgers (and veggies burgers) tonight, we made some corn on the cob to go with it.
I like this recipe, the kids can help:

And $8 of jelly bellies later:
