7:45 Got home in time to walk Alex to school.
8:00 Tried to feed Ariel breakfast but she wouldn't eat.
8:40 Drove Ariel to school. Here's what she took for lunch (I figured out the laptop lunch fits into her bag so packing will be much easier). Grapes, zucchini cookie, quesadilla and goldfish:

While Ariel was at school Adam and I went to the rec center. I swam laps while Adam played in child care, then when I was done I took him swimming. Then we went home and showered and had lunch.
And I was reminded why I'm glad Adam starts school tomorrow. Man, that boy can talk, especially when he's by himself. His new completely random thing today is that God is talking to him. Like at the rec center, he was looking at a fish and said, "God told me that's a shark." And I said, "I'm pretty sure that's a catfish." And Adam said, "Oh, maybe God was confused." Where the heck did this come from? And also, mommy bacteria are made up of atoms and baby bacteria.
1:00 Ariel pick up. She had another great day. I was disappointed when I saw a bag with Ariel's clothes, but she got wet in a good way, playing outside with water. Her teacher said she insisted on getting dressed herself ('I do it') but it was pretty obvious, she had her shirt on backwards.
1:25 Got home. Ariel stayed awake to eat a little mac & cheese (her lunch box was still pretty full) before taking a nap.
2:40 Now that Alex is a big first grader, I have convinced him to walk home by himself. Which really entails walking across the soccer field to the bike path, and I meet him there. I can still see the house from there, so I can leave Ariel napping. Which she still was.
So since Ariel was sleeping, here's an Adam story. The last week of school Adam brought home a plant. It had no tag and all Adam said was that he thought it was a flower that you could eat. At the time, that didn't make a lot of sense, but I put the plant in the garden and we watched it grow all summer long. Now it's a 9' tall sunflower. And we can eat the seeds:

4:20 Becky arrived and had the pleasure of waking Ariel.
