April 21, 2008

7:15 Drop off. I was in the middle of making matzah brei. Matzah brei (or fried matzah) is one of the many joys of Passover, as depicted in today's Pajama Diaries. I love Pajama Diaries. Jeremy says it's about me anyway:

And speaking of Passover, Dad, I thought you might enjoy this... This morning (during matzah brei production) Jeremy commented, "With the new Hagadahs we didn't get to hear your dad say 'And lo, here is the bread of affliction (and after 8 days you'll know why)' and 'Here is the seder plate shank bone. It is 26 years old and spends the rest of the year in the back of the freezer.' See, Jeremy's listening! We may have to make some revisions for next year's seder to make sure the classics are still included. Lo!

Ariel did not like the matzah brei but she did eat yogurt and oatmeal (as did Adam. I'm not uber-kosher-crazy. Hey, I'm barely practicing as it is. Shrimp, anyone?).

8:00 Walked Alex to school.

8:30 Ariel and I left for our adventure of the day, walking with Grannie Shirley.

9:00 Got to Arvada. We walked down to Dry Creek Park. Ariel pointed out every dog and airplane on the way there.

And then she got to play at the park for a few minutes. She wore the new sun hat I knit. I made it for a friend's baby but then I decided I didn't like my chunky yarn choice so I gave it to Ariel. I'll make it again with a smoother textile (I say textile like I don't mean cheap acrylic, but there you have it.)

Ariel and Grannie:

10:15 Got back to The Parent's house just as Grandma and Hannah got home from the mall. We played for a bit and snacked on cheese and grapes. Ok, Ariel had cheese and grapes, I had a slice of raspberry sham tort. Mmmmm...

11:00 Left The Parent's. Ariel fell asleep in the car.

11:30 Adam pick up.

11:40 Ariel transfered to bed. Adam and I had lunch. Adam had challah with cream cheese because he apparently doesn't like matzah and told me that bananas weren't kosher for passover. What. Ev. Er.

1:00 Adam and I took a snuggle nap on the couch.

2:00 Ariel woke up. And demanded spaghetti o's.

2:30 Picked up Alex from school.

3:15 Super fun trip to the grocery store. Only Ariel got a cookie. Everyone rode the horse. I bought some Corona on the way home.

4:25 In the middle of my chorosets making Becky came. See, I'm getting my Jew on again today.

Of Note Today - Alex had a substitute teacher named Mrs. Ducket. There's a limerick in there just dying to get out.
