7:00 Drop off.

7:20 Breakfast - apricots and waffles. Ariel fed most of the waffles to the ants (which Adam called our "pets" yesterday).

7:40 Left for swimming. Swimming was not so good today. Adam was being INSANE. His teacher would ask him to swim to the wall and he would refuse and try to swim back to her. She wouldn't pick him up because he wasn't following directions and Adam wasn't flipping on his back to breath. He swam nearly the length of the pool and half way back again chasing her. Needless to say he was exhausted when his lesson was over and literally passed out during Alex's lesson. And Alex's lesson was very good. He swam with clothes and shoes on and did just fine. Very good sign for getting out of lessons this week!

8:30 Jeremy dropped Ariel off. He said she didn't poop for him, but I could tell he changed her diaper because of the way her onesie was unsnapped and hanging out of her pants. Men.

8:45 Got home. Starting preparation to make my first ever Gotcha Day cake. Yes, today is Mae's Gotcha Day, the day Ellen first met her in China.

9:30 Ellen and Ted came over (with coffee, thanks!).

9:50 Ellen, Ted, Alex and Adam left for story time while I finished up cake stuff.

10:10 Ariel and I left and did a quick trip to the grocery store. Then we met up with the boys at story time. And I changed a poopy.

11:00 Got home. Ariel had lunch - sweet potatoes, two tubes of yogurt and some Kix. Then she took a nap.

I decorated Mae's vegan chocolate cake with yummy vegan frosting (made with the finest fat money can buy).

1:45 Ellen left, with Alex and Ted.

2:00 Ariel woke up. We did a little shoot:

2:30 Becky picked up Ariel so she could get a haircut (I hope it's obvious that it was Becky getting the cutting done).

And after I had the fun adventure of going to Pearl Street to buy a growler of beer in the middle of the day with my 2 year old, we met back up with Alex at Ted's house and celebrated Gotcha Day with Chinese food and cake.

Mae was in a very serious mood:

Somewhat more playful outside:

Ole! Ball!

And singing "Happy Gotcha Day to Mae!"

Yup, Mae likes cake:

what a beautiful cake!

What fat do you use to make vegan frosting?

And what is a growler of beer?

Happy Gotcha Day to Mae - Wendy, the cake is beautiful :)

Debbie - I use earth balance shortening, it's not hydrogenated.

And a growler of beer is 64 oz in a glass container. Ellen likes the containers to store her homemade soymilk in.
