So that was the first 1/2 hour of the night, somehow the second was just as useless. Next, I had to find Alex again and go to a kindergarten room (notice I said A kindergarten room, it wasn't even his. They now have 4 sections of kindergarten and 4 sections of K-Care but I still couldn't get Alex in morning kindergarten - that's a whole different rant). And then, in the class room, instead of a nice presentation about the kindergarten class and curriculum I got to cut out word cards while Alex's decorated his cardboard treasure box to hold them. The only slightly useful thing was getting a list of Alex's zoo phonics animals, but that could have easily been put in his Friday folder.
The whole evening was very disappointing, especially since I had gone to Adam's back to school night last week and it was what I expected. His teacher talking about his class and his forthcoming year. Though I could have done without the simultaneous Spanish translating. What is it with the Spanish?
And on other note, my car wouldn't start again last night. So this whole dead battery is not completely my fault. Jeremy jumped it again this morning and added water to the battery (I said, "Batteries need water?" and Jeremy said, "Exactly.") Anyway, he took the van today in case he needed to run it by Toyota for a new battery.
7:15 Drop off.
Ariel walked in with a nuk. After a bit she took it out and I put it in her bed.
8:00 Breakfast - waffles again. I need to go to the store.
9:15 Left the house in Jeremy's car to run errands. First we went to Mike's Camera to see if I could buy boxes for wallet pictures there. The answer is no, I need to buy them on line. Bah. My senior's order should be coming in the next few days and I wanted a wallet box.
Next, we went to the bank and I deposited checks and found money. My latest found money deposit was over $10 making my grand total $108. Dad pointed out that most of it was my yen, but really, that was $70 so I've still found nearly $40. And let me tell you, that's a lot of pennies. The new plan for the money is to buy my next plane ticket to see Crissy with it. I just need about $40 more and a good airline sale.
10:15 Storytime at the library. Ariel did a bit better listening but she also wandered around a bit and made a mess and made it very difficult for me to catch up on my People Magazine. She didn't take her nuk on this trip and was fine with chewing on a plastic cell phone. She has a pretty strong oral fixation, that one.
10:45 Left storytime and went home for Alex to have lunch.
11:15 Left on our bikes to get Adam.
11:50 Got home. Ariel and Adam had lunch, which was noodles with red sauce and some cheese slices.
12:15 Put Ariel down for a nap. She was very happy to be reunited with her nuk but she hadn't asked for it before her nap.
I put Adam down for a "rest" too but he didn't sleep. He did stay out of my way and I had a fabulous day cleaning the house, including mopping the floors. Woohoo!
2:25 I had to wake Ariel to go pick up Alex.
2:45 Got home.
Since I woke up Ariel, she still had her nuk. That's right Ariel, enjoy it while you can. Muhahahaha!

3:30 Dad got here to take Ariel home. He called and left a message saying he'd be here a bit after 3. I guess in Dad language that meant anytime after 3 and until midnight.
Speaking of Dad, I forgot this funny story. At the CF BBQ a woman thought Dad was my brother. And then she said, "You are remarkable well preserved." I need to remember that line.
L'Shanah Tovah and see you Monday.
PS - I made a new blog banner. I like it so hope you do too.

I LOVE the pork talk on the banner. that makes me wheeze just thinking about it. How do you make a banner? Can I make a banner? I'm intrigued. is it just an image? a jpg? a gif? off to google...
Oh, and sorry about Back To School Night. Open enrollment starts in November!
I love the new banner. I am sorry about the nuk nonsense. I did not have an easy night. The boys must distract her from it at your house.
Back to school nite's suck! I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. You know Ellens point about open enrollment is a good one. You really should have at least had a presentation once you broke off to the kindergarten class.
