Well hello, everyone, I'm not dead. But I have been enjoying a week long Ariel vacation. This weekend was also Dad's, uh, 63rd birthday (Is it mean to make a joke that he's not dead either?). I took a few cute pictures of the kids, this is my favorite:

And I do think I had said somewhere that we had been planning a fabulous family vacation in scenic Lemar over Labor Day, but Jeremy developed a nasty sinus infection and wasn't up for racing. So we actually had a nice family vacation here in town. On Saturday we finally checked out the farmer's market. The next day Dad and I took a practice bike ride to Jamestown to see if I'll be up for the 65 mile CFF Ride for 65 Roses this weekend (I believe I will be, thank you very much). And that afternoon Dad also took the boys and me to see Underdog, which on it's 3rd weekend was already in the discount theater. The boys thought it was pretty fun. And on Monday we enjoyed the last day at Ted's pool with his family. It seemed appropriate that it was a bit cold to be swimming, I guess summer is really almost over.

And in other exciting news, my new camera is here!

And let see what else... Yesterday I went to the dentist and took Alex along. He really seemed to like watching me get my teeth cleaned, though it was a bit creepy for me to have him hovering 2 inches from my face (the hygienist didn't mind, she has kids too). The bad news is, I have to get my first filling EVER. But the good news is my gums look great and I've maintained and improved them since my periodontal treatment 4 years ago.

7:00 Drop off. Bah.

7:30 Breakfast - Ariel had waffles.

And then we tried out my new camera. I think the major difference will be in my prints. The 40D is 10Mp so I'll be able to make bigger and better enlargements and crop pictures more and still be able to print them.





9:30 Ariel really really wanted to nap even though I really really wanted her to sleep after I picked up Adam from preschool. Oh well, I put her down and she went right to sleep.

9:30 Sam and Mae came over for pictures. Mae was, well, as Ellen put it - a tad sullen. But still cute:

11:10 Ariel woke up and we rode out bikes to go get Adam.

11:35 Picked up Adam.

11:45 Dropped Alex off at school. We are getting good at this bike riding thing.

12:00 Got home, Adam and Ariel had lunch. Ariel had yogurt and mac & cheese.

After lunch I tried to get Adam to nap but he didn't. But he and Ariel did play while I proofed Mae and Sam's pictures.

2:30 Went to get Alex from school.

Since I had my picture stuff still up, I went ahead and took Alex's late 5 1/2 year pictures. He was sullen too.

And then I sat on the computer and the kids trashed the house some more. Then I put on the Empire Strikes Back.
