September 20, 2007

Wow, I had yet another long break from Ariel. Can't say that I didn't enjoy it ;)

So, catching up.... On Friday, I had photoshoot with 17 month old Olivia. You might not be remembering about my brand new website, so here are her pictures.

We went to our neighbor's 5th birthday party on Sunday. That was loads of fun, it was a Star Wars party. Adam was not originally invited because Josh didn't want to invite any little kids, but Adam proved that his Star Wars knowledge was sufficient and was allowed to go. Pictures are here.

My neighbor wants to paint her house, so I helped her out with some photoshopping action.

Here's what it looks like now:

I thought she should go pink. I say, if you don't live in a covenant controlled neighborhood, then don't act like it!

But I think she's going with a dark taupe.

I didn't have Ariel on Monday because I went to the dentist to get my filling. It was SUPER fun. Actually, the filling wasn't bad, but I did not enjoy having half my face numb for 4 hours. Alex went with me, I'm sure it was a good learning experience, and something I can remind him of when he doesn't want to brush his teeth.

Jeremy took one of his infrequent business trips to San Diego. He left on Sunday and returned Wednesday. The boys and I did fine, even though we did dine at Taco Bell and Noodles for dinner. And I guess that's all that's been going on around here.

7:00 Drop off

7:30 Small breakfast of homemade waffles. I'm using Ellen's whole grain spelt recipe now. Adam loves them, Ariel was more tentative.

9:00 Sam and Mae came over to play. Which finally got Alex out of bed. I'm not sure what's going on with Alex, we woke up around 7:00 and said he was too scared to get out of bed because he had a bad dream. He didn't seem to be sick, but he lay there whimpering for almost 2 hours (not continuously).

I got some bread going in the machine, then made some vegan cookies:

Ariel had a chocolate chip cookie. Or the cookie had her, it's hard to tell.

I wanted to do some practice shots with Ariel in a tutu (which she loved) but it didn't go as I planned. The sun was too bright to do some nice grass shots like I was picturing.

Alex and Sam decided that Ariel was a princess, and they were knights protecting her. They mostly ignored the fair lady, but they had a very cut game of knights, complete with Alex-made K'nex bow and arrow and sword.

11:15 More drama when I said it was time to go. Alex decided right at 11:15 that he needed lunch before going to school, even though I had talked to him about it 20 minutes ago and told him if he was going to eat, he had to do it now. So he started crying, and cried all the way to Adam's school. And then he cried all the way to his school, which caused him to crash his bike once. And when he got to school he was very upset because he was wearing Crocs and his class isn't supposed to wear Crocs on Tuesdays or Thursdays because they have PE. I had to literally peel him off me to get him when we got to school, I hope he survives today.

11:50 I had put the bread in the oven before we left to get Adam, and it was ready when I got home. This was a pretty good whole wheat honey loaf. Adam had 3 pieces with jelly for lunch, and Ariel had a bit with a bit of string cheese.

Ariel still had her princess dress on. She looked pretty cute in the bike trailer with her pink helmet.

12:15 Put Ariel down for a nap.

2:30 I had to wake Ariel so we could go get Alex.

2:35 Picked up Alex. He was completely fine. He said he cried a bit during music but that he wore his crocs during PE and ate his Gorilla Munch snack at recess and was fine.

2:45 Got home and Alex was convinced that Ariel needed a video so I put on Elmo. Alex really thought it was for Ariel (thought they all watched it), he only picks Star Wars for himself.

4:35 (yes, 4:35) Pick up. Hey, no poops today.
