Mar. 21, 2006

I set a new record last night. This seems to happen to me every few weeks. I'll be putting Adam to bed and just crash. And yesterday was the worst ever. Adam fell asleep in the car coming home from our playdate. I got him tucked into bed, but when he woke up at 6:00pm he was really cranky. I thought he might need to just get into bed, even without dinner. So I was putting him to bed and fell asleep. Probably at 6:30. Kinda missed my yoga class there. And since I got up at 6:00am and feel pretty good, I guess I needed it. But dang, 6:30 is pretty early to go to bed, even for Adam.

7:00 Drop off.

7:15 I left Ariel in her carseat, moved her to Adam's room, put a blanket over the seat and she want back to sleep.

8:40 Ariel stay asleep until it was time to take Alex to preschool.

9:05 As per our Tuesday routine, Adam and I (and Ariel) hung out in Alex's preschool room (his class was playing in the gym, usually they are outside) while we waited for Adam's baby preschool to start. I gave Ariel her bottle then.

9:30 Time for Adam's baby preschool. I forgot my camera, but as far as Ariel's concerned, it wasn't very exciting. She played with her flutter bug for a bit, then fell asleep in the bjorn. Adam's class was small today, probably due to the weather and spring break. Adam played with pinto beans and cups in a big tub, molded playdoh and shot trucks down a ramp. For snack, he had delicious store brand graham crackers.

11:00 Ariel was just starting to wake up when it was time to go home.

11:20 We got home. The plan was for Crissy to hang out with Ariel while I got Adam to nap, then I could pick Alex up from preschool without disturbing Ariel or Adam. What really happened... Adam had mac & cheese for lunch while I fed Ariel...

11:45 Crissy and Gavin showed up. I tried to put Adam down and I think he was sleepy, but he also had to poop. I was about asleep myself (guess I didn't get enough sleep last night) and then I had to change his diaper. At this point, I gave up on a nap.

12:25 Gave up on getting Adam to nap, instead we ran to Safeway for Starbucks (if I'm not getting a nap, I need caffeine) and milk (you know you've put off shopping too long when you are out of milk).

1:00 Picked Alex up from school. Talked with his teacher about possibly taking the guinea pig home for spring break.

1:25 Got back home. Crissy said Ariel slept the whole time we were gone. When I peeked in, she was awake. I thought it was a bit early for a bottle, so I put her in the bjorn.

1:45 Alex was so excited that I bought waffles with the milk that he ate nearly half the box. He does love his waffle.

1:50 Ariel fell asleep in the bjorn.

2:00 I played around with Crissy's latest Michael's find. It's Creating Keepsakes Creative Lettering Combo and it's WAY cool. If anything, after my 40% off coupon, I got a bunch of new fonts for $12. But look how cute this font is:

You can change the fill color (in this font, the yellow) and the secondary color (in this font, the green). And the fonts are also on my hard drive so my other imaging programs can use them too.

I also like the journalette boxes:

I definately think Ariel's name will be super cute on her next collage.

Ok, so I need more comments. I know I've reverted to boring again, but I'm more exciting (or so I like to believe) when I think I have an audience. So comment away please!

2:30 Friends Zach and Josh came over for a playdate.

2:45 Ariel woke up. She didn't seemed starved yet, so she did a little tummy time before her bottle. She didn't roll for me, but this is the happiest I've ever seen her on her belly:

3:02 Bottle. She actually kept most of this one down.

The boy's playdate went really well. The first thing they did was set up the pillow fort. Here's Zach carrying Adam around;

And Zach "shooting" me. What is it with boys and guns?

4:00 Josh and Zach went home. I tried putting Ariel in the carseat to go to sleep, but it didn't take.

4:10 Bjorn, Right to sleep of course. Adam and Alex watched a Dora video.

4:25 Pick up.

I'm sorry to hear she was awake when you checked. I did peek in on her multiple times. Don't think I just left her there and ignored her. Actually I was bummed she slept the whole time. I was looking forward to more Ariel time.
Even Gavin has picked up on how much I enjoy Ariel. When we got there Gavin said, "Mommy, you're going to be happy here because there are two babies." This was after I carefully explained that Alex would not be there and we were not having a playdate.

Crissy - I know she was sleeping for you and of course you looked in on her. She must have woke up when we all came in. And thanks again for helping today, it really did make a huge difference. I hope you had fun at Walmart! (Oh, and Alex was very bummed Gavin wasn't staying, but at least I thought to explain it to him before he saw Gavin.)

I thought it would be fun to have Jeremy comment, but standing behind him and making him look at the blog and then making him comment, then making him comment on his comment turned out to be more work than pleasure. Jeremy, you are excused from the blog unless I write something really funny, or I write something directly about you. Hmph.

I don't understand what the $24 is. Did I miss something? She had tummy time tonight and didn't roll over again for me either. WAH!
