Mar. 6, 2006

Last night at the parent's house for dinner, Dad said my blogs are getting shorter. I take that as a challenge, so how do you like THESE apples, Dad?

7:00 Drop-off. Becky has been hitting more around 7:15 in the last week, so I was a bit surprised that she was back at 7:00 and I had just gotten out of the shower (read: slightly wet and nekkid). Ariel was awake, but I left her in the carseat.

7:30 Ariel didn't go back asleep in the carseat, so I tried swaddling her and laying her down for a nap. She did not like this idea.

7;40 Gave up on laying her down, put her in the bjorn.

8:00 Fell asleep in the bjorn.

8:45 Crissy called with a Fabulous Idea. We had gotten coupons for free espresso drinks at a new coffee/ice cream shop. She suggested that we meet her and Gavin and give it a try.

9:00 Got to the coffee place (which happen to be right next to "our" Safeway Starbucks). Crissy was already there with her caramel macchiato, which she had to teach the barista how to make since that's a Starbucks drink. I opted to feed Ariel first, then get my drink. Crissy and I liked this coffee place. They have a kid's section, with tons of toys. Beats the dirty looks from the Starbucks Grumpy Old Man.

9:15 Ariel was VERY spitty. It seemed like the whole bottle came back up.

9:20 I went and got my free mocha. It was good, but I can't compare it to Starbucks because I forgot to ask for soy milk, so it tasted pretty different. But it was still good, and FREE.

9:45 I left Ariel with Crissy and Adam and I made a quick Michael's run. I had to exchange some baskets that I bought yesterday, and Crissy needed a picture frame for her Marcus collage.

10:10 Got back to the coffee place. While I was gone, Crissy changed Ariel's outfit for a dry one.

10:15 We left the coffee place.

10:25 Got home and Grammie was waiting for us. Welcome home Grammie! Ariel fell asleep in the carseat, so I left her there. While she slept, I folded and put away Alex's laundry.

11:07 Wake up, bottle. She seemed to keep this one down better and I got a few burps out of her.

11:20 We spend our post bottle upright time outside, talking to Grammie and the boys. It's a beautiful day here, nice and sunny and warm.

11:35 Came inside, Ariel hung out in the bouncy seat with a newly washed toy (yes, Crissy, I finally washed my baby toys for Ariel!) while I did the blog.

11:45 Blog update completed.

11:50 Speaking of Dad (muhahaha) looks like I got ditched today. Last night Dad asked if I would be home between 11:00 and 12:30. I said yes. He said he would try and stop by after his doctor's appointment. Did he stop by? No! Did he call? No!

11:46 Changed poopy diaper. It wasn't very big, but it was very hard, borderline constipated. Ariel also did not like waiting for me to throw the poopy in the toliet, the diaper in the outside trash and wash my hands. Wah!

11:50 Into the bjorn.

12:20 I swaddled Ariel and put her down awake, she fell asleep very fast. While she was sleeping, I started a grocery list and ate lunch (melted cheddar on triscuits and strawberry shortcake that Grammie brought).

Here's what Ariel looks like napping laying down. I put her on Adam's bed or my bed. Right now she's on my bed since Adam will need his bed soon.

12:30 Put Adam down for a nap too.

12:50 Update blog again while finishing my strawberry short cake.

12:50 While updating my blog, I checked my email and saw that Crissy had emailed me back regarding Marcus's collage. She wanted to swap out a few pictures, so I finished that for her. Here's the revised collage:

1:10 Attempt to republish log and comment back on Becky's comments. And that time is a slight estimate, as always, plus or minus 5 minutes. Sheesh.

1:25 Ariel woke up

1:28 Bottle

1:43 Bjron.

1:49 Asleep. I used this time to alternately refresh my very boring email inbox and complete my grocery list.

2:20 After confering with Grammie for her famous cheese grit recipe (which will be a side to a cajun shrimp dish), I decided my list was complete enough to go to the grocery store. Adam was still asleep, so just Ariel and I went.

2:25 Before the grocery store, I popped into the knitting store to take a picture of the March project. It's a scarf with hand warmers:

2:30 The grocery store. Ariel was awake but quiet in the bjorn. I picked out 3 cooking light recipes this week that should be pretty good. And my only impulse buy was Cadberry Eggs. The most disturbing part about those eggs is that even Crissy, my fellow junk food lover, won't eat them. I only need to eat a few a year and then I'm done too.

3:15 Home from the store. Ariel hung out with Grammie while I put the groceries away.

The boys have been playing with the neighbor boys all afternoon, who were waiting for the stove repair man to come, sometime between 12-5.

3:30 Ariel was a bit cranky, so given the time, I fed her another bottle.

3:35 The neighbor's stove repair guy came.

3:45 Back in the bjorn while I updated the blog. She fell asleep pretty quickly. She's out of sync today, usually I keep her on a pretty good eat/play/sleep cycle.

4:00 Done updating the blog (and the stove repair guy left). Refreshed my email some more, and looked at my parenting message board.

4:05 Ate one Cadberry egg and started the USA Weekend Stickduko puzzle.

4:10 Ate another egg. Mmmm, Becky, mmmmmmm. Muhahahaha!

4:15 Ariel woke up. I continued to work on my puzzle. It's rated medium and is slow going. Becky, I dare you to go to USA weekend, print it out and do it. And then time it and tell me how long it took you. You too, Dad. Triple Dog Dare!!!!!

4:20 Took Ariel and puzzle outside.

4:28:30 Pick up.

4:31 Becky and Ariel left.

Dad, I said you would be amused by this blog, Becky said you would think we were obnoxious. So which is it? You have to comment!!!

5:11:47 P.S. I think the stickduko took me about 45 minutes, but at least I didn't have any mistakes.

Interesting how your blog was posted at 11:36, yet your posted at 11:45 that your blog update was complete. Seems like someone's clock is wrong...

P.S. Dad is silly, he doesn't post any comments. I think comments would encourage longer posts.

P.S.S. Maybe I'm not leaving long enough COMMENTS

P.S.S. Maybe I should also check out the new coffee place - when they are not free, how are prices compared to Starbucks?

P.S.S.S. I went to Starbucks yesterday too.

P.S.S.S.S. I also like the Caramel Macchiato.

P.S.S.S.S.S. *sigh* - this seems to have gotten silly.

I'm trying to update my blog right now, but blogger is being stoopid. But I have very exciting things to post.

p.s. I already told Dad to post comments. He might be lame.

p.s.s. I think that your comments certainly *could* be longer.

p.s.s. I think the coffee place is a bit more expensive. I think a tall mocha at Starbucks is about $2.75, and there it was $3.10. But on the way out, we got samples of the gelato and it was really good. We'll have to go back for that, I have a buy one get one coupon for that.

p.s.s.s. I went to Starbucks yesterday too. I walked there and since it was warm, I got a mocha frappachino. Then I remembered I like the frappachino's a lot better when they have chocolate chips, I will remember that for next time.

p.s.s.s.s. I do not care for the Carmel Macchiato. Everyone once and a while I accidently pick up Crissy's drink instead of mine and I always think it's gross (sorry Crissy, but it is true).

p.s.s.s.s. Never! And shouldn't this really be p.p.p.p.s? Post-post-post-script makes more sense to me, at least.

Wait - I started this blog posting at 11:36, which is when it gets time stamped, but I did not finish and hit pubsish until 11:45. It all makes sense, realy.

Wendy,
You left out a very important note on our trip to the coffee/icecream place... Ariel did spit up her whole bottle. It was very upsetting to her and us. However, she seemed better after she got up the large piece of hair in throat. I'm wondering if this stopped the massive spitups. I guess we need to start wearing hair nets around her or something!

PS. I am totally offended that you would say my "elixer of life" (as you put it) is GROSS!!! Now come on, it is not that bad. If you don't like it then please feel free to stop drinking my latte... Ha, Ha :-)

PPS. I really enjoyed Ariel today. Even with the huge hair ball spit up. She is unbelievably adorable.

PPPS. Even with the "Ariel Smell" her hugs put a huge smile on my face when I need it most! I miss her over the weekends.

Now I'm off to do sudoku. I think I'll download the one from the paper. We'll see how it goes.

Crissy

BTW, no constipation for Ariel. Nice healthy poo poo yesterday evening, and one this morning too.

P.S. I notice there are still no comments from Dad.

P.S.S. I accept your challenge and I will go to the sudoku.

P.S.S.S. I will have to let you know the results of the sudoku

P.S.S.S.S. I think Dad ditched you to go to the gym, he called me yesterday morning to ask where the new one was in Lafayette.

I did the sudoku last night and it took me 31 mins. I thought that was pretty good. Now I can't imagine how you can do it in 10 mins. That doesn't sound natural! :-)

Becky, Crissy and I discussed this, and while she's too kind to put it here, we are really wondering HOW you can do suduko so fast. I think we are going to have to have a sit down contest. Just the three of us. We might let dad play too, if he ever comments.

I accept the Sudoku challenge. I didn't leave the dr until 12:10 AND I had to be in golden at 1:00 I went to the gym before the appointment.
Mondays blog was not too short and boring. For the Sudoku challenge there should be a prize.

Wendy said...

Becky look - Dad commented!!!!

So, what should the prize be? It doesn't count for this puzzle, theh prize winning contest will have to be a new puzzle in a controled environment.
