Mar. 29, 2006

Roses are red,
Vikings are Norse,
thanks to my dear sisterina Becky,
I saved some money - on Starbucks of course.

7:00 Drop off one happy baby and one mocha.

7:15 Baby slighly less happy, but I was trying to make Adam's eggs for breakfast (which he didn't eat) so Uncle Jeremy held Ariel for a bit. It's my new plan to either get him out of the house in the morning, or have him be useful. He gets up at 5:30, so I think he could be out the door by 7:00.

Nothing like an Uncle Jeremy to make Ariel look even smaller than she is.

7:30 I tried to lay Ariel down for a nap, but no go.

7:45 Bjorn - asleep.

8:15 Ariel woke up, I tried to get some pictures before she ate. Adam wanted in on the action:

8:30 3oz bottle - pretty spitty. And my first round of tag team crying baby. Adam was crying about wanted to take a nap.

9:15 See, I was actually planning on going to Starbucks today. Starbucks is next to the library, which was having storytime today. So we started walking to the library. Alex was walking, Ariel and Adam were in the stroller.

9:35 Alex wanted in the stroller. He walked pretty far, maybe close to a mile. I hope by the end of the summer he can walk at least there, about 2 miles.

10:00 Get to the library. See, spring really is coming. Look at this daffodils. And did you know Clifford has a bunny friend named Daffodil? Neither did I.

We also came to the library to get books about bats. Alex LOVES bats, or so he'll tell you.

10:15 Storytime. Both the boys really enjoyed it and Adam amazed me by sitting quietly through most of it.

11:00 Storytime over, we checked out our books and thought about our next move.

11:15 Lunch at Cicis. I walked in and said, "One adult please." And then Alex walked up and said, "Hi, I'm four" (which happens to be the age that children have to play). I played dumb and asked if I needed to pay for him too, but she let us all in on my buffet. I have a feeling she felt slightly sorry for me.

11:20 Ariel finally woke up and had her next bottle. The boys had pizza and pasta.

11:40 After Ariel finished, I propped her up in a high chair. She really liked looking around:

12:00 Of coures we had to wander by Michael's, which is next door. I got a St. Patrick's day welcome sign for next year, on clearance for $1.94. I'm so excited that I can brag about that here since Jeremy swore the blog off, he will hate it!

12:15 Left for home.

1:00 Got home. I played with Ariel for a bit, while Adam slept in the stroller and Alex played outside (his bee house needs more contruction).

1:15 My favorite part of the day thus far. Adam woke up just as Ariel (recently changed with new clothes and diaper) needed to eat. Adam cried. Ariel cried. Neither would obey my "only one crying kid at a time" rule. And on and on. We finally got it sorted and I learned that if Ariel is positioned right she can hold her own bottle. Way to go, Ariel. And boo on you, Adam.

2:00 Break out the big guns - Kisses. Ahh, I feel better now, and I bet Adam does too.

2:45 Put in a Bob the Builder video so I could get a moment of peace. Ariel finally fell asleep in the bjorn.

3:00 Finishing up this entry, smells like Adam has soiled himself. Yay!

3:10 Yep, a big poopy for Adam. And changing him woke Ariel. But I think I have time to share my Adam trivia. See, to entice the Bare Bottom Bandit to wear diapers, I started showing him the characters on them. He decided that he only likes Big Bird diapers. Maybe I can eBay my Elmo and Cookie Monster diapers so get more Big Bird ones, cause I can tell you there aren't that many in a pack.

3:30 Bottle

4:00 As a last ditch hope for some sanity, we went outside in the front yard. Luckily our neighbors were out too, so I really did get some peace. All four boys were playing really well together, amazing since they are 5,4,3 and almost 2.

4:30 Pick up. And not a moment too soon. I almost put my zen garden out again with a new sign - "Free Mini Zen Rock Garden + child, your choice"

PS Later, my neighbor got me a beer. That's just what I needed to relax enough to make dinner. Thanks, neighbor!

PPS - Anyone want a free zen rock garden?

Lots of exciting pictures today! Ariel looks pretty happy in all of them, but I do take note that you probably didn't get any of her crying...

Some funny stuff today, girl. Well, for us readers anyway. LOL

I think what Dad is trying to say is - he wants the zen rock garden.

Hey Amy, glad I could give you a LOL today.

And Dad, I think you are the winner of a zen garden rock. I'll bring it down for you.

(PS these comments made me laugh so hard I cried, but Jeremy said it's not that funny. What does he know?)

Dang, I was so frazzled today that I forgot some funny stuff. Alex was so excited to show Zach his bee home. Zach took one look at it and said, "But Alex, bees don't live in the ground." And Alex said, "But I made them a hive!" Zach let it go, showing his 5 year old maturity.

And the game the boys were playing - the big boys would put trucks all over the yard and then steer Adam towards them. When Adam locked on, he would pick up the truck and put it in the line with the other trucks. If he went astray, Zach would carry Adam under his armpits back to where he was supposed to be.

Hey Wendy,
This was a great blog day. Mom and I both got tons a laughs, unfortunately for you it may not have been funny at the time.

I can not believe what happened at Cici's. I feel guilty because it was my idea to pass the boys off as three year olds. I guess it was just a matter of time before they messed that one up for us.
At least you paid for you buffet BEFORE eating this time!
Miss you tons.

Wendy, don't feel bad, neither of my children obey the "only one child at a time crying" rule either. It's maddening!
