7:05 I ordered pictures last night and forgot to order one. I was trying to crop and upload when Adam decided he wanted to go "night night" (yes he just got up). I was trying to finish my project (notice, not 100% kid related) and he started freaking out.
7:30 Adam's freaking out woke Ariel.
7:45 Ariel in the bjorn.
8:30 Jeremy took Alex to preschool. Yay!
8:42 Bottle. She kept it down pretty well.
9:00 Play time. I got Crunch Bug out for Ariel. My guys loved Crunch Bug. Ariel is less impressed:

Adam replaces Ariel's "nuk" yet again:

9:17 Adam kept asking to go "night night" so I thought I could get him down for a nap. But for this plan to work, Ariel would have to go down too. I got Ariel situated in the crib and laid down with Adam. I had to get up a few times to put Ariel's pacifier in, which disturbed Adam.
9:40 Ariel asleep. Adam not. Sigh.
10:15 Adam again asks to go night night. When we went in there, Ariel woke up.
10:17 I put Ariel back in the bjorn and left Adam in his room to see if he'll put himself to sleep. So far, no deal.
10:20 Ariel went right back to sleep. Adam, still no deal.
10:40 Adam FINALLY stopped crying and when to sleep. And he's doing that sad whimper sniff in case I don't feel bad enough.
Ok, I don't want to leave anyone in the lurch, so here's my backyard this morning. We got a little more snow last night. It's suppose to be cold and snowy all weekend.

11:00 I took pictures of the boys's new sweaters so I could update my knitting website.
Here's Alex's sweater:

And Adam's slightly too small sweater:

11:42 Ariel is still sleeping on me, and I'm getting bored. So dad, here's the recipe you asked for (yes Becky, Dad had grits for the first time and LIKED them).
Aunt Eula's Cheese Grits
2 Cups quick grits
6 cups water
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2-3 eggss, beaten
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
6 drops of tabasco
Cook grits according to directions, stirring frequnetly. Add rest of ingredients, bake in 9x13 buttered pan at 350 until firm (I baked them 45 minutes).
Oop, there's Adam, gotta go.
11:50 I put Ariel down in the bouncy seat while I got Adam. He was grumpy, but cheered up pretty quick.
12:00 Ariel didn't wake up when I put her down, but is now awake. I changed a poopy before her bottle.
12:05 Started feeding her the bottle and she wasn't eating and was getting really frustrated. I finally tried sqeezing the nipple and nothing came out. So I switched the nipple and all was good. Becky, have you had that happen?
12:45 Left to get Alex from school. Ariel was oddly sad in the car.
1:00 Got to preschool. Normally I leave Ariel in the carseat, but I put her in the bjorn to get her calmed down.
1:15 Instead of going home, we went to Pearl Street. A friend invited us to a natural food store baby event. I was going just to say hi, but when we got there, my friend wasn't there. We hung out for a bit and got some free samples, like hot chocolate.
1:30 Decided that while we waited for my friend, we might as well be doing it at Starbucks. Since it was afternoon, I got a decaf MMM (marbled mocha macchiato). I think I'm done with those now, too sweet.
1:45 Headed back to the natural food store. Still no friend. I got her work number from a coworker. Alex announced that he needed to go potty, but there wasn't one at the store so we had to go accross the street to Borders.
1:55 Finally locate the bathroom. I thought Ariel was smelly again, so I changed her diaper, which was poopy, and then changed her clothes too. Mmmm, much better. I try calling my friend but the number was wrong.
2:15 Check the natural food store one last time, my friend was finally there. And she let us know that the reason we couldn't use the bathroom was because it was behind the pharmancy counter, and we would have to pass a pharmancy test to be allowed back. Even she wasn't allowed there. Hung out for a bit, then realized Ariel was hungry and we needed to go.
3:00 After a miserable car ride home (want bottle now! waaaah!) we got home and Ariel got her bottle.
3:30 Pick up. Per Becky's request, here's my backyard at 3:44, by my camera's clock, which confuses me because I thought I took it when Becky was still here. As you can see, the sun finally came out and a lot of snow melted today.

And while I was doing this update, the boys were waiting for me and looked pretty cute. I don't get them together very often:

(and as Becky noted, Adam really is wearing overalls today. And we didn't have a single nekkid episode.)

Yes, I actually have had the nipple problem once *hehe* - I don't remember now if it was blockage (from chunky parts of formula that didn't quite mix right), or an air bubble. I have not come across it more than once or twice. Usually, I just flick the nipple and whatever the problem was is resolved.
I like these extended blogs. I feel like I'm there ;-)
thanks for the recipe. I hope we will have it again soon
yet another comment from dad... but none from the OB (original blogger). Whats up with that?
