July 30, 2007

7:00 Drop off. I think. I don't know, I wasn't home. I was hiking up in Chautauqua. Which is all the more impressive because Ellen and I did a killer 13 1/2 mile hike up Green Mountain yesterday.

7:50 Got home. Ariel appeared to have shredded a waffle for breakfast.

8:20 Got the boys off for preschool with Jeremy.

8:45 There are some big jobs that you put off because you think they will be a big pain in the butt but they turn out not so bad. Kinda like my desk. And then there are some jobs that you put off because you think they will be a big pain in the butt and when you finally do them, they WERE a big pain in the butt. Such was my morning of cleaning out my car. I think it took 2 1/2 hours to vacuum and wash it. It still could use a steam clean, carseat cover washing and a waxing, but it's much better. And I'm going to institute a no food or non-water beverage policy.

Ariel amused herself with sitting on the tricycle and playing with random toys I found in the van.

10:30 Ariel went down for a nap. I thought I would finally shower, but I got waylaid with laundry and other boring chores.

12:00 Ariel woke up and had a whole bowl of mac & cheese. I'd feed her something else, but she doesn't appear to like anything else.

12:45 Left to pick up the boys.

1:00 Pick up. Had to change a messy diaper first.

1:15 After pick up, we ran some errands. First we stopped at the nursery to buy some spearmint. We went to the talking parrot nursery, but Lindy was quiet today. Ariel was still excited to see a big green bird though. Next we went to Office Depot to buy some photo paper and copier paper for Alex's school supplies.

2:15 Got home. Fed the kids popsicles.

I learned a valuable lesson today. Never give Ariel a red popsicle, even if she takes her dress off. That stuff stains. That must be way they make a pale yellow one.

Then I planted my new spearmint. I hung it in the dining room because I don't want it to seed my yard and Mr. Ellen thinks that cats will go after any mint like catnip. That's a theory I don't want to test, it sounds messy.

4:00 Early pick up. Yay!

That is SO COOL that you have your own spearmint. I use regular mint. Is there a difference? I am going to buy some mint tomorrow. WOO HOO!
