August 15, 2007

7:30 A late drop off.

7:45 Breakfast - Alex generously shared his waffless with Ariel. She also had oatmeal, which she generously shared with Adam.

9:00 Left for our Adventure of the Day - the Butterfly Pavilion.

Ariel liked and hated the field trip. Since we last went in March, she's not as fond of spiders or things flying at her head. But it gave her lots of opportunities to use her new phrase "Hold You!" (which somehow sounds a lot like "Juice" out of context).

She did like the fish. And climbing on stools.

And when she wasn't freaking out about things flying at her head she was pretty happy.

The boys being spiders.

Ariel being a honey bee.

And then we went to story time and they each got a tattoo. Alex asked for a rolly polly, Adam got a spider and Ariel got a butterfly. And Becky, I had to pay $1 for it, so that's why I didn't take her pictures today so you could see it.

11:45 Left the Pavilion. Ariel fell asleep in the car.

12:30 Went to Alex's school. The class lists were finally published. He'll start next Tuesday in the afternoon class. Not my first choice, now Adam's going to preschool in the morning and Alex'll go in the afternoon and I have lots of drop offs and pick ups but no kid free time. Sigh. Alex also had a literacy assessment but I had to leave the classroom so I'm not sure what happened. He said that his teacher read him a book about a man and the moon and he had to tell her where to start reading. Another teacher asked him about different letters. I'm not worried.

1:15 After playing a bit on the playground in the rain, we went home.

Ariel had lunch - yogurt, blueberry mush and cheerios.

2:30 We rode our bikes to Adam's school for a meet and greet. Adam's classroom is pretty cool. It's really two classroom connected and then a little flower garden off back. They have a fish tank and birds and frogs and a gecko. Alex and Adam started fiddling with the Montessori tools in a fiddling appropriate way (unlike Ariel who was just fiddling in a destructive way). Then we played outside on the playground for a while.

3:45 Rode our bikes home.

4:15 Pick up.

Wow a big adventure with 3 kids and no other mommy. Great butterfly pics. It's amazing you got anything considering you had to watch the boys and Ariel at the same time!
